What a month of GLP-1 medication actually costs in cash, tracked over time. We take the median monthly cash price across a fixed basket of US providers and rebase it to 100, so you can see the market move — not just a single sticker price.

What’s in the basket
The distinct monthly medication cash prices that feed the index this period. Manufacturer prices (NovoCare, LillyDirect) appear once even though several of our guides cite them. Membership/program fees and first-month promos are excluded.

How the index is built
- Constituent= one distinct price concept (e.g. “Henry Meds compounded tirzepatide, recurring monthly”). A constituent’s value is the median across however many of our guides cite it, so a manufacturer price quoted in several articles still counts once.
- Basket = monthly medication cash prices only. Membership/program fees, first-month promos, and one-time charges are stored but excluded, so the index reflects the cost of the drug itself.
- Index value= 100 × (this period’s median ÷ the earliest period’s median) for each series. A series is only published once it has at least two constituents.
- Cadence— prices are re-checked on the 1st of each month against each provider’s own live page. The methodology page covers source selection and review.
The index is an estimate of typical advertised cash prices, not a quote. Your actual cost depends on dose, insurance, and provider. See our cost & access guides for individualised figures.
