Cite, embed, or download the GLP-1 Price Index

The GLP-1 Price Index is designed to be cited, embedded, and downloaded by publishers, researchers, and journalists. The underlying data is licensed CC BY 4.0: free to reuse, modify, and redistribute for any purpose, with attribution.

How to cite

The index updates monthly; cite the period you used (the index page shows the latest period at the top). For a specific month’s figures, pull the dated rows from the JSON or CSV endpoint below.

How to embed

The embed view drops the Metabolic Ledger header and footer — just the chart, a date stamp, and a single attribution link — suitable for an <iframe>inside another site’s article. We don’t set frame-ancestor restrictions; any domain can embed.

Download the underlying data

The index exposes machine-readable endpoints with permissive CORS, suitable for dashboards, research scripts, or your own charts.

JSON: /api/price-index.json — full series history plus the current constituents.
CSV: /api/price-index.csv — long format: one row per period × series.

Endpoints are cached at the CDN edge for up to one hour; the index only refreshes monthly (1st of the month), so an hour’s cache is well within tolerance.

Methodology

The index is the median monthly medication cash price across a fixed basket of US providers, rebased to 100 at the earliest period, computed per series (all / compounded / compounded-semaglutide / compounded-tirzepatide / brand). Full method is on the index page and our methodology page.
