Cite, embed, or download the trackers

Both Metabolic Ledger trackers — the Compounding Provider Status tracker and the FDA Warning Letters tracker — are designed to be cited, embedded, and downloaded by other publishers, researchers, and journalists. The underlying data is licensed CC BY 4.0: free to reuse, modify, and redistribute for any purpose, with attribution.

How to cite a tracker

Each row also has a per-row permalink (look for the # next to the provider or letter name) and a “Cite” button that copies a formatted citation to your clipboard.

Per-row citations include the row’s last verifieddate rather than today, so the reference reflects the moment that specific fact was confirmed. For example, a citation to a single provider’s row uses the date our scraper last verified that provider’s status, not the date a reader retrieved the tracker.

How to embed

Each tracker has a stripped-down embed view that drops the Metabolic Ledger header and footer, suitable for <iframe>placement inside another site’s article. The embed includes the row data, a date stamp, and a single attribution link back. We don’t set frame-ancestor restrictions; any domain can embed.

Download the underlying data

Both trackers expose machine-readable endpoints with permissive CORS, suitable for use in dashboards, research scripts, or your own embed.

Compounding Provider Status

FDA Warning Letters

Endpoints are cached at the CDN edge for up to one hour; the trackers themselves only refresh weekly (Monday 06:00 UTC), so a one-hour cache is well within freshness tolerance. Each row in the JSON includes alast_verified_at timestamp so you can determine staleness directly.

The tracker datasets are licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0). You may copy, redistribute, transform, and build upon the data for any purpose, including commercial use, provided you give appropriate credit and link back to the source tracker page. Recommended attribution string:

Refresh cadence and freshness

Both trackers are refreshed weekly (Monday 06:00 UTC). Status changes on the compounding tracker also require operator review before they publish — the typical end-to-end lag from observed change to live row update is therefore one to seven days. The FDA warning letters tracker follows the FDA index directly, with no editorial review.
