How we determine status
Once a week, we re-fetch each provider’s GLP-1 marketing page, capture the relevant text, and classify it against five statuses (still compounding / brand-only / mixed / wound-down / unconfirmed). A classifier proposes any change; an editor reviews the proposed change against the captured source quote before it goes live. We never auto-publish a status flip. The complete process is on the methodology page.
Why this changes so fast
The regulatory backdrop — FDA shortage resolutions, the OFA litigation, the Eli Lilly and Novo Nordisk patent and trademark suits, and FDA warning letters — has been moving on weekly timescales since late 2024. A row can flip between status states based on a single court ruling, a settlement, or a manufacturer enforcement action. See our compounding-cliff timeline for the long-form regulatory chronology and the FDA warning-letters tracker for the active enforcement docket.
